Every summer Camp Good Times on Vashon Island, Wash. offers kids dealing with cancer a break and a chance to be kids. Some campers are in remission--others are still dealing with the disease. Some are the siblings of those with cancer who the staff hopes can hopefully get lost in the joys of childhood.
Aurora Milroy, 16, who lost her hair from cancer treatments, preferred hiding her head under a hooded sweatshirt during much of her time at camp. But when beauticians from a Seattle salon arrived Thursday, the hood came off and hot pink came on.
